Transantiago and public transportation

I am from another city, so i don't know if Transantiago is a better system than the previous; i don't know either how it has changed from when it started to the current days, but based in my recent experience, i think is relatively good. I haven't had a bad ride in it, so i don't consider it that bad. But of course it needs improvements, it has a long way to go. First of all, we need more buses and to fix the old ones, because they are very deteriorated and, besides that, and more important of all i think authorities should worry and destine more money to regions because Santiago isn’t Chile!
For example, in Punta Arenas the buses are disappearing, because they are SO old and the service is SO bad that people are not using it anymore, only students use it because it’s free, so is a vicious circle because buses are not generating profits to improve them and because of that, people are not using them.
Politicians should talk about this subject instead of promising bonus. And also a VERY important matter: not to think always in Santiago and the Metropolitan Region; other cities DO exist in this country and they are practically forgotten all the time and left a side so the great Santiago can have his transport problem solved and nobody even cares about the regions. That is one of the greatest problems our country needs to solve.
